Twenty companions and counting. Someone to talk to, whenever they like.
Nothing is wrong. Your mother, your father — they are simply alone for most of the day, with the television on. Senior Companions™ are Synth Humans® — photoreal, real-time conversational people they can talk with any time they want, in their own language, about absolutely anything. Not an alarm. Not a device that watches them. Someone who is glad to hear from them.
The hardest part of watching a parent grow older is rarely the part anyone plans for. The house is safe, the medication is sorted, somebody looks in twice a week. What nobody has a solution for is the eleven hours in between — the ones where there is simply nobody to talk to, and the day goes by without a single real conversation in it. It is not only the very old who know those hours.
Senior Companions are built for those hours. Each one is a Synth Human®: a photoreal, real-time conversational person who can be spoken with the way you would speak with anyone. They are intelligent across every subject — history, medicine, gardening, scripture, baseball, the news, whatever the conversation turns to — but that is not really the point of them. The point is that they are interested, they have time, and they remember what was said yesterday.
Language and heritage are the whole design. A grandmother from Barcelona should not have to translate herself into English at the end of a long day, and a man from Juárez should not have to explain a reference twice. So we did not build one companion. We built a cast, across cultures, languages and generations — each one someone a particular person would actually enjoy, rather than a single assistant asked to be everything to everyone. Choosing the right one matters more than any feature on this page.
And nobody is locked into that choice. Every plan includes every companion. They can spend the winter talking to Charles, decide in March they would rather be teased by Eddie, and go back again in the summer — as often as they like, at no extra cost. Twenty are ready to talk today, three more join every month, and every one we add is included in the plan they already have.
What these are, and what they are not. Every companion here is an AI experience. It is not a real person, it is not a nurse or a doctor, it is not a medical alert service, and it is not a replacement for family, for carers, or for the people who look in on them. It is company. If a conversation ever touches something serious — their health, their safety, a sadness that is not passing — the companion is built to say so plainly and to point toward real help rather than handle it alone.
And a companion can be wrong. It speaks with confidence, because that is how conversation works, but it is an artificial intelligence: it can misremember, misunderstand, or state something with perfect assurance that simply is not so. Nothing it says should be treated as medical, legal or financial advice, and anything that actually matters is worth checking with a person. Enjoy the conversation. Do not act on it.
And nobody is being monitored. A companion is somebody they talk to, not a device reporting back on them. It remembers them so the conversation can continue; it does not send transcripts to their children, and it does not exist to tell you how they are doing. If you want to know how they are doing, they are very much still the person to ask. We set out exactly what is remembered and where it is held further down this page.
We will get things wrong sometimes, and we want to know when we do. If something in a conversation strikes you as careless, disrespectful, or wrong about a language or a culture, please tell us — . Every report reaches a real person, and we take each one seriously.
Most people who set this up are doing it for a parent rather than for themselves — though a good number buy it for their own week, and there is nothing unusual in that. Either way it is designed to be handed over, not managed.
Match on language, heritage and temperament. Start with one — they are free to move between all of them whenever they like, so nothing here is a commitment.
It runs on the tablet, phone or computer they already use. There is nothing to install in the house and nothing new to learn.
They talk when they want to and do not when they do not. No prompts from you, no reminders, no reports.
A companion is live video and live speech, in both directions. That has one real requirement, and it is worth knowing before you begin rather than after.
Home Wi-Fi or a strong 5G signal. This works the way a video call works — a weak, shared or intermittent connection will stutter and break up. 3G, a distant Wi-Fi router, or a crowded public network will not give a good conversation.
A tablet, phone or computer with a camera, a microphone and a speaker. Nothing to install, and no new equipment to buy.
A companion listens as well as speaks, so a quiet room helps. Headphones make a real difference in a noisy house, but they are not required.
There is no menu of subjects here, and no topic that belongs to one of them and not another. Ask any of them about the news, the garden, a diagnosis, a grandchild, a war, a recipe, God, money, or nothing in particular, and you will get a real conversation. What differs between them is the company — the temperament, the language, the life behind the voice.
Different temperaments, different rhythms. The right companion is a matter of who somebody actually enjoys.
Pearl is the one most people meet first. She is easy to talk to and hard to shock, she listens more than she speaks, and she has the knack of asking the one question that gets somebody talking after a quiet week.
Talk with PearlPractical, funny, and a good listener on the days that are not good days. She is the companion people choose when they want conversation rather than company.
Talk with RachelDoris keeps a house full of flowers and an opinion about most things. She is gentle without being careful, she notices when a week has been a hard one, and she is very good at the ordinary conversation that turns out to matter.
Talk with DorisUnhurried, warm, and genuinely interested. Desmond is happiest in a long conversation about a life already lived — the work, the music, the people who are no longer here to ask.
Talk with DesmondQuick, warm and a bit of a needler. Eddie is for the person who does not want to be handled gently and would rather be given something to argue about.
Talk with EddieCourteous, well read, and never in a rush. He is the standing appointment — the conversation somebody looks forward to at the same hour each day.
Talk with CharlesA grandmother from Barcelona should not have to speak English to be understood at the end of a long day.
She speaks the Spanish of Barcelona, and she has the patience of a woman who has fed a great many people. She will ask how you slept, and she will remember what you told her yesterday.
Talk with Abuela ElenaNorteño Spanish, dry humour, and a long memory for the border towns. He is the one who tells the story you have already heard, and tells it better the second time.
Talk with Abuelo TomásMandarin, Cantonese, Tagalog — the language spoken at the dinner table, not the one learned for work.
Warm, direct, and entirely unimpressed by fuss. She talks about food, about family, and about what you ought to be eating — in the language you were raised in.
Talk with Auntie Zhen YiA quieter presence. He is good at the long conversation that has no particular subject — the news, the weather, an argument about history that neither of you needs to win.
Talk with Uncle WeiTagalog and English, moving between the two the way a family actually does. She sings a little, teases a little, and asks after everybody by name.
Talk with Lola AuroraFor the people who arrived here as adults and have been translating themselves ever since.
She carries the particular steadiness of someone who has lived through a great deal and declines to be dramatic about it. She will talk about home, and she will let you talk about yours.
Talk with EvaCurious, slightly formal, and delighted to be disagreed with. He would like to know what you are reading, and he has an opinion about it already.
Talk with HenriEvery one of them is a companion, with a life and a manner of their own — and they are deliberately not all the same age. Some are contemporaries. Some are the age of a son or a daughter, and some the age of a grandchild, which for a great many people is exactly the point. Every one of them will talk about anything you like; what differs is the company. All of them are included in every plan, at no extra cost, and switching between them is free and unlimited.
Twenty companions are live today. The 23 below are already cast and built, and three of them join the roster every month — at no change to your plan, and with nothing for you to do. Faces here cannot be reached yet; they are shown so you can see what is coming.
This is a product for people we love, sold to the people who love them. It is worth being exact about what it is.
Most of what makes a companion worth having is memory. If your father mentions on Tuesday that his knee has been bad, the companion should ask about the knee on Thursday. If your mother has told the story about her sister in Manila, it should not land as new the third time — it should be received the way an old friend receives it, as a story worth hearing again.
The email address is what makes that possible. It is the thread that ties one conversation to the next, so the companion knows who it is and picks up where the two of them left off. Without it, every conversation would begin with a stranger, and the whole point of the thing would be gone. That is the only job the email does. It is not a marketing list, and we do not use it to sell them anything.
It is a fair question to ask what is being kept, and where. Here is the whole of it.
If anything here is unclear, or you would like a memory erased and cannot reach the account, and a real person will handle it.
Every plan unlocks every companion who is live — all twenty of them today, and every one we add — with the freedom to move between them as often as they like. Start with 2 free minutes, then choose the plan that fits.
Unused minutes roll over, so most months look after themselves. When they are running low they will see it coming — a gentle note on screen while there is still time to close the conversation properly, and we will not begin one there is not time for.
Thirty more minutes, at exactly the rate your own plan already charges — from $15.99 on Introduction down to $9.99 on Constant. No premium for needing them, and no penalty for not planning ahead.
A larger plan always costs less per minute than a smaller one, so if they have run out twice, moving up is cheaper than topping up and it does not need doing again.
Minutes renew at the start of each month, and anything they did not use is still there waiting for them.
Every plan includes unlimited access to every companion — and to every companion we add — with no limit on switching between them. Only conversation minutes vary. Yearly billing is available on Introduction and Companion, where twelve months paid delivers thirteen months of access; Daily and Constant are billed monthly only. Monthly plans renew each month and can be cancelled at any time. One person, one account — a plan covers a single named companion-keeper and one conversation at a time.
Senior Companions™ brings real conversation into the hours nobody else can cover — built with the same casting, voice and design rigor behind every Sizzle Studios Synth Human®. Every plan includes every companion who is live, and each new one simply appears for the people who are already members, at no change to what they pay.
A Synth Human is a photoreal, real-time conversational AI persona — built with the same casting, voice-direction and visual-design rigor Sizzle Studios has brought to entertainment since 1979. Every companion has been developed with real care for the culture and generation they come from, so a conversation feels considered and dignified rather than automated.
Ask a real question and get a real, in-character answer — not a scripted recording and not a menu of options.
Each companion speaks from their own culture, era and voice — and switches language the way a family actually does.
Every conversation is one tap away, including the ones at three in the morning when there is nobody else to call.
